The prayers of the third Friday of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem were encircled by Israeli police attacks on Palestinians taking part in prayers but this did not prevent about 150,000 Palestinians from going to the mosque to pray, according to the Islamic Waqf in Jerusalem.

Israeli forces raided the mosque on Friday after the morning prayers, wounding at least 31 Palestinians, three of whom were journalists, with rubber-covered bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas.

The Israeli police said the raids were in reaction to the Palestinians throwing stones.

Tear gas was also fired after Friday prayers, hitting Palestinians who worshipped the Dome of the Rock in the enclosure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
