434 Mills, 623 Middlemen, 345 Landowners Involved in Wheat Flour Smuggling, Says Ministry of Interior
The Federal Ministry of Interior has identified individuals involved in wheat flour smuggling and hoarding across the country based on intelligence information.
Lahore: In the entire country, 434 flour mills, 623 middlemen, and 345 landowners have been found to be engaged in smuggling and hoarding.
The Federal Ministry of Interior’s intelligence report was provided to the Chief Secretaries of all four provinces, after which the district administration in Punjab initiated a second round of inspections of the mills and individuals on the list.
The government report lists the names, addresses, phone numbers, ID card numbers, and wheat storage capacities of mill owners.
According to the intelligence report, 434 flour mills, 623 middlemen, and 345 landowners are involved in smuggling and hoarding across the country.
In Punjab, 216 flour mills are implicated in wheat flour smuggling and government quota theft.
In Sindh, 92 flour mills are involved in wheat flour smuggling and hoarding, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 88, and Balochistan has 37 flour mills engaged in smuggling and hoarding.
In Punjab, 387, Sindh 172 middlemen are involved in wheat flour smuggling. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 59, and Balochistan has 5 middlemen engaged in smuggling and hoarding.
In Punjab, 214, and Sindh 81 landowners are implicated in hoarding. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has 45, and Balochistan has 5 landowners involved in smuggling and hoarding.
