Chairman Sanjrani promises support to operationalise trade gateway
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani assured the business community of ‘all possible steps’ to make the Taftan Bazarcha trade gateway at the Pakistan-Iran border fully functional to increase the trade activity between the two countries here on Thursday.
Mr. Sanjarani met with a delegation of provincial business leaders led by Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) President Fida Hussian Baloch Dashti, to discuss the issues faced by the business community.
Mr. Dashti highlighted the closure of the Bazarcha with the Senate Chairman, asserting that in spite of the availability of every facility, the gateway was not operational.
“[The] Fabian policy in making the bazarcha functional is very disappointing,” said Mr. Dashti, adding that it was incurring big losses for the business community and depriving townies of employment opportunities.
The Gateway has immense importance in the economic development of Balochistan, as emphasized by the delegation.
The problems related to trade with neighboring countries like Afghanistan and Iran were also discussed and suggested several steps to improve bilateral business.
Mr Sanjrani praised the part of the QCCI in resolving the hurdles confronted by the business community.
