Approval for Telecom Infrastructure Sharing Framework in Free Market
The federal government has approved the Telecommunication Infrastructure Sharing Framework (TISF) prepared by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
Islamabad: According to the PTA, this framework was developed in consultation with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT) and the telecommunications industry.
The framework provides a regulatory mechanism under a fair and competitive process for licensees to share their active and passive telecommunication infrastructure.
The approval of the Telecommunication Infrastructure Sharing Framework is a significant step towards the progress and sustainability of the telecommunication sector in Pakistan.
It is expected that its implementation will result in a substantial reduction in the Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expenditure (OpEx) of telecommunication infrastructure.
