PPP Chairman Calls for an End to Politics of Hatred and Abusive Language

Peshawar – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has highlighted the need for positive politics in Pakistan, stating that the current political climate is filled with hatred and abusive language.

Current Political Climate:
Speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, Bilawal Bhutto expressed concerns over the unprecedented crises facing Pakistan today.

He emphasized that if politicians do not engage in positive politics, they will face public backlash.

Challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
Bilawal Bhutto pointed out that the politics of hatred and abusive language is rampant in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He mentioned that the PPP is in the process of reorganizing in the province and aims to counter negative politics with positive initiatives.

He also noted that poverty and unemployment are nationwide issues, and the perception is that problems in the country are continually increasing.

Terrorism and Security:
The PPP Chairman acknowledged the efforts of the armed forces in combating and defeating terrorists, stating that the brave military had broken the back of terrorism. However, he expressed concerns about the resurgence of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

He assured that PPP representatives would participate in the government-called All Parties Conference (APC) and reiterated the party’s longstanding support for the public, police, and military.

Government Collaboration:
Bilawal Bhutto stated that the current government stands due to PPP’s votes and emphasized the importance of consultation in policy-making.

He shared that the Prime Minister assured consultation on decisions related to the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and future budget decisions.

Promises and Agreements:
He highlighted that the PPP had objections to the non-implementation of agreed matters with the PML-N, such as the promise of 300 free electricity units.

He emphasized that the budget issues predominantly affected three provinces, excluding Sindh.

Foreign Policy and Regional Issues:
Bilawal Bhutto addressed the misconception that problems would be solved by visiting Afghanistan, recalling a previous trip where even a cup of tea was significant.

He expressed his willingness to visit Kabul if he were still the Foreign Minister and stressed the importance of improving relations to unlock economic development.

Past Mistakes and Future Directions:
The PPP Chairman mentioned that generals Bajwa and Faiz had briefed the parliament at the party’s request.

He stated that the focus should not be on past mistakes but on ensuring they are not repeated. He assured that the APC would present factual information rather than hearsay.

Addressing Terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:
Bilawal Bhutto criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for allegedly facilitating terrorists instead of combating them.

He pointed out that the provincial Speaker and ministers admitted to receiving money from terrorists. He acknowledged past mistakes and stressed the significant role of the KP government in tackling terrorism.
