Climate change: Some scientists consider dimming Sun
In the fight against climate change a few years ago, some scientists came up with the ridiculous idea of "dimming the Sun" by placing reflective particles in the Earth's atmosphere. The particles could reflect sunlight.
Although the idea did not receive a lot of attention at the time, now with desperate attempts to at least slowdown climate change, the concept could be on the table again.
There was a Reuters report that talked about the idea. A researcher on climate hazards “geoengineering”, Emmi Yonekura thinks that even this plan can only work if emissions are reduced.
The danger of dimming the Sun is high. It can lead to unexpected changes.
One of the greatest concerns about climate change is the changing patterns of precipitation that could lead to hunger around the world.
