COVID-19 positivity stands at 7.5 in Lahore

With a gradual increase, the positivity rate for COVID cases in Lahore has risen to 7.5% over the past 24 hours.

According to official figures reported by the health department, an additional 198 people tested positive for the virus in the same period across the province. This brings the total number to 511548 in Punjab to date.

Of them, 165 have been reported in Lahore and there has been no death reported from COVID-19 in any part of the province.

Faisalabad was the other city that shared most of the new cases of the virus as its positivity level was reported at 6.9pc.

More new positive cases were reported from Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Bahawalpur, Gujrat, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhakar, and Kasur, among others.

Official data indicate that health authorities have conducted a total of 5,116 COVID-19 tests over the past 24 hours province-wide and the positivity rate was reported at 3.9 pc in Punjab.

The department of health has warned public-sector hospitals that the disease is spreading progressively in the province’s major cities and asked them to take measures to treat patients with COVID-19.
