Dua Zahra’s mother desperately tries to embrace her daughter as she enters court
A video went viral on the Internet in which Dua Zahra’s mother could be seen trying to embrace her daughter as she enters court.
Dua — the 14-year-old girl who mysteriously disappeared from Karachi in April but later declared that she had run away from home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed — appeared before the Sindh High Court (SHC) yesterday.
In the video, Dua’s mother could be seen attempting to make her way toward her daughter to meet her while she was being brought to the court escorted by the police.
However, the mother was unable to meet her daughter.
On the other hand, the authorities ordered to carry out a test on Dua to determine her real age, and to present her again on 8 June.
As she was recording her statement in court, Dua said she was 18 and wanted to go with her husband. She also said she wasn’t abducted.
On Sunday, Dua was found by police in the Chishtian area of Bahawalnagar after a month and a half of absence from her house in Karachi.
