ECP announces by-poll schedule on NA seat vacated following Aamir Liaquat’s demise

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced by-elections in the National Assembly constituency in Karachi, NA-245, which fell vacant following the death of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA(PTI), Aamir Liaquat Hussain, on June 9th.

Nominations will be accepted between June 22 and June 24, while the polling will take place on July 27, a notification from ECP stated on Friday.

Aamir Liaquat was elected from NA-245 on the PTI ticket in the 2018 general elections.

At the beginning of this month, Liaquat was found motionless in her bedroom by her driver, who rushed him to a private hospital where MNA was declared dead on his arrival by a physician.

Two children, Dua and Ahmed, were left in mourning.

Liaquat married thrice.
