Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted Pakistan's most famous meme on Sunday to go after the US government's weed policy.

The meme featured the renowned Pakistani cricket fan, Sarim Akhtar, whose disappointed look during Pakistan vs. Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match was viral after Asif Ali dropped a catch. Later, the photograph of Sarim had become fodder for the makers of the meme.

The tweet showed an air of deception on the faces of weed users in the United States when they are thrown behind bars.

“People in the United States in prison for weed while the government treats a Russian war criminal to release a female basketball player in prison for pot,” the meme read.

Elon, in his tweet, wrote: “Perhaps release some people in prison for weed here too?”

The meme was on the subject of US Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star Brittney Griner who was arrested at Sheremetyevo Airport in Moscow on February 17 after vaping cartridges containing hashish oil were found in his baggage.

She is currently being tried before a Russian court.

The Biden administration offered a deal to Russia a few days ago to bring back Griner and another jailed American, former-US Marine Paul Whelan. Russia has reportedly expressed interest in releasing the two Americans in exchange for Viktor Bout, a Russian arms dealer serving a 25-year sentence in a US jail, The Guardian reported.
