With Shehbaz Sharif taking office as the new Prime Minister, the fate of PCB chairman Ramiz Raja is at stake. Earlier, Ramiz said he was told to “keep working as chairman of the PCB.”
After learning that the government has decided to remove Ramiz Raja from the chairmanship, former federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, said his dismissal would be a huge blow to Pakistani cricket.
Taking to Twitter, Fawad said, “PML-N has yet again proved they’ll never change, same tactics sacking Ramiz Raja will be a huge disservice to Pakistan cricket he is not PTI, he is a top-of-the-line cricket technocrat, they’ll use PCB to accommodate their cronies.”
As per a report, Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Patron-in-Chief has decided to sack Ramiz Raja from the chairmanship of the PCB, and Najam Sethi and former BOG Shakil Shaikh are expected to be named by the PM.
Key developments include the very first Pakistan Junior League (PJL), women’s PSL, and the preparation of new pitches at the Karachi National Stadium and the Lahore Gaddafi Stadium are being prepared under guidance of Ramiz Raja.
