First batch of Pakistani students travels back to China to continue their studies on campuses

The first batch of 90 Pakistani students is back in China on a special charter flight to continue their studies on campuses, a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Monday.

The students were farewelled by Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Rana Tanveer Hussain. Additional Secretary (Asia-Pacific) Ministry of Foreign Affairs Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, and other senior officials from the Foreign Office, Federal Education, and Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had asked for students to come back to China to study on campuses during his talk with State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in China on May 22.

The Government of Pakistan thanked the Chinese government for making it possible for this group of students to return. It is anticipated that the successful arrival of the first batch would pave the way for all Pakistani students to return to China to study on campuses.
