Flood Relief Trucks looted in Dera Murad Jamali
Owing to the uncertainty among the masses in Balochiatan's flood-hit areas various NGOs have stopped operations that were providing relief as the trucks carrying relief goods were looted in Dera Murad Jamali.
According to the officials, hundreds of people including women, who were affected by the floods assembled near the Tehsildar office after receiving information about the arrival of trucks.
As per sources, they intercepted two trucks and took away the ration and other relief items.
After this scene, police and local administration officials rushed to the site to control the situation.
The NGOs are asking for security from law enforcement agencies while also demanding actions against the looters.
On the other hand, there were reports of protests in Kohlu, Dera Bugti, and other parts of the province because of the unavailability of relief goods.
The protesters claimed that the goods are reaching the affected areas but the administration has been storing them in the government godowns and distributing them based on political connections.
Though, the government officials have denied such allegations and informed that some elements were exploiting the situation and creating propaganda.
They added that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and many NGOs were involved in the equitable distribution of relief goods including cooked food, drinking water and tents.
