Heavy monsoon rains this year in Karachi

Karachi is expected to witness monsoon rains more abundant than usual this year, which could last three months, the Meteorological Department said Wednesday.

The Met Office has released the Monsoon Outlook 2022, which states that monsoon rains in Pakistan, including Karachi, will be above normal this year.

The average rainfall in Karachi for the monsoon (July-September) is 131.9 millimetres and is expected to reach 140 mm this year.

The pre-monsoon season is expected to begin in the second week of this month, and monsoon rains are expected in the last week of June.
