Internet Explorer to shut down its services for good on June 15

Internet Explorer is going to shut down its services tomorrow, June 15, said Microsoft.

The Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application will end support for the semi-annual Windows 10 channel effective June 15, 2022,” states the statement.

Microsoft is encouraging customers to switch to Microsoft Edge using IE mode.

“IE mode provides backward compatibility and will be supported until at least 2029,” he added.

The tech giant added that it will “provide notice one year before withdrawing IE mode.”

It then pointed to a link to a list of operating systems that support Internet Explorer, “including versions affected by the ad.”

Based on Britannica, Microsoft released Internet Explorer in August 1995. It became a successful search engine and in 1996 Javascript-enabled.
