Islamabad court okays two-day remand of Shahbaz Gill in sedition case
A court in Islamabad on Wednesday morning okayed a two-day physical remand of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill in a treason case.
The hearing of the case was held under strict security measures, with Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir ordering the police to produce the leader of the PTI in court on Friday.
In the course of the proceedings, the police requested a remand because they still have to recover Gill’s mobile phone and the device he used to make the statements.
“We also have to investigate the order of who the broadcast was,” the police said to the judge.
Faisal Chauhdry, Gill’s lawyer, told the judge that the program was not aired under anybody’s instructions.
