Oath-Taking Ceremony Held at Governor House
Lahore – Justice Ayesha Neelum has taken the oath of office as the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Governor House in Lahore.
Ceremony Attendees
Governor Punjab, Sardar Salim Haider Khan, administered the oath to Justice Ayesha Neelum.
The ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar, other judges, former judges, the Registrar of Lahore High Court, law officers, and administrative officials.

Judicial Commission’s Decision
Justice Ayesha Neelum’s appointment was unanimously approved by the Judicial Commission in a meeting chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.
The commission considered three candidates for the position of Chief Justice of Lahore High Court: Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, and Justice Ayesha Neelum.
Official Notification
Following the approval by President Asif Ali Zardari, the Ministry of Law issued a notification appointing Justice Ayesha Neelum as the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court.
First Female Chief Justice
Justice Ayesha Neelum is the first female Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. Born on November 12, 1966, she obtained her LL.B. degree from Punjab University in 1995 and began practicing law on February 1, 1996.
