Karachi to get first pre-monsoon rain spell from today

As parts of the country began to receive pre-monsoon precipitation, the Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has forecast rain in Karachi with strong winds and storms starting today.

According to PMD, the first pre-monsoon rain spell in Karachi is expected to start today (Tuesday) and continue till Wednesday, June 22.

The Met department has also predicted rain for the next two days in Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Sukkur, Larkana, Kashmoor, Shikarpoor, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, and other parts of Sindh.

Late Monday night, parts of Lahore received heavy precipitation, while Qasoor, Chunian, Shiekhupora, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad also saw pre-monsoon precipitation.

According to PMD, there is also a good chance of rain with thunderstorms and high winds in northeastern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Baluchistan.

However, the Met department also issued a warning to passengers and tourists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galiyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, urging them to stay alert and avoid unnecessary journeys.
