OGRA approves gas prices increase by 45%

At a time to close an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday approved an increase in gas prices just one day after a massive increase in fuel prices by Rs 30 twice in a week.

A notification was also issued indicating that an increase of 45% was approved for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and 44 percent for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL).

“Whereas for the consumers of Sui Northern, the price of gas was fixed at Rs1007 per MMBTU after an increase of Rs308.53 per MMBTU,” it added.
