Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif shot dead in Kenya: Wife
Arshad Sharif, the senior anchorperson, and presenter, was gunned down in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Sharif’s wife, Javeria Siddiqui, went on Twitter and confirmed the tragic news, acknowledging her husband’s death in Kenya.
She also urged the media and the public not to share their family photos, personal details, and recent photos of Sharif from the hospital on social media.
Local police have initiated an investigation and are investigating the matter, the sources said.
Before the confirmation of his wife came forward, certain previous reports had indicated that Sharif had died in an accident.
Sharif was previously associated with ARY News and had gone to Dubai after resigning from the network. Before going to Kenya, he was spotted in London several days after his arrival from Dubai.
After the news of Sharif’s death, sympathy began to flow from all over the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was sad about the “shocking news of the tragic death of journalist Arshad Sharif”.
“May Allah SWT grant him a place in Heaven. My deep condolences and prayers for the bereaved family,” he said.
PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan expressed his condolences for the death of journalist Arshad Sharif.
Hina Pervaiz Butt, leader of PML-N, expressed her sincere condolences at the disappearance of the journalist, while the leader of PTI, Ali Zaidi, also expressed his grief at the death of Sharif.
