Punjab to pay June salaries and pensions early

The government has made a decision to release the salaries and pensions of serving and retired provincial public servants for the month of June in advance.

According to the details, the provincial finance department has made the decision to facilitate employees and retirees because there will be a bank holiday on July 1, Friday, due to the beginning of the new financial year.

The holiday shall be followed by the two weekly holidays, Saturday and Sunday. As a result, the Department of Finance ordered all district accounting officers to ensure compliance with the latest directive.

The Department of Finance has also instructed the General Accountant to ensure that employees and pensioners receive salaries and pensions on June 30th.

Additionally, the Government of Punjab will present the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2022-23 on June 13.

Punjab’s governor, Baligh-ur-Rehman, has already called the session of the provincial assembly.
