The president of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Fida Hussain Dashti, expressed concern over the ban on the movement of wheat among districts and the closing of flour mills in Balochistan.
Speaking at Wednesday’s chamber meeting, he urged the relevant authorities to immediately lift the ban so that the flour industry could be saved and the product made available to people at affordable prices.
He said that the ban has created difficulties for the public because it has led to a shortage of wheat and flour and has also caused a rise in their prices.
Mr. Dashti said that, on the one hand, the government was saying that work was underway to make sure that industries were operating at full capacity. At the same time, active industries suffered losses as a result of these measures.
He stated that the chamber would resist any action taken against any industry.
