Relations with India may get worse’ over Canada: US envoy
America's ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, has warned of India-US relations owing to the diplomatic row with Canada following the murder of Hardeep Singh.
According to the American newspaper, Eric Garcetti, the American ambassador to India, says that after the Hardeep Singh Nagar dispute with Canada, India’s relations with the United States may also be very bad. America needs to limit contact with Indian authorities for an indefinite period.
Earlier, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said in a statement that the allegation of India’s involvement in Hardeep Singh’s murder is very serious. India must cooperate with Canada in the investigation of Hardeep Singh’s murder.
According to the US State Department, everyone living in the US has freedom of expression and there are no restrictions on Sikh protests. Sources say that after Canada, the Modi government tried to suppress the voice of Sikhs in the US as well, but it failed.
