Summer vacation proposal rejected
The Punjab School Education Department (SED) rejected Thursday's proposal to increase the summer vacation.
Higher education institutions announced the reopening of institutes on 15 August after extending the summer vacation for two weeks.
The teachers and students also asked for an increase in holidays, but the department rejected the proposal, citing the beginning of the new academic year.
The department ordered school heads to open classes on 1 August and asked parents to send their children to school.
