The suspect Hasnain and his brothers Irfan Faiz, Ahsan Faiz, and their friend Inshal were detained for allegedly killing Jazlan over a minor quarrel in Bahria Town Karachi.

Hasnain’s father, Faiz Muhammad Khan, has also been detained since his licensed weapon was used in the offense.

On Saturday, the investigator presented the father and son before the Judicial Magistrate (Malir) Furqan Karim upon the expiry of their pre-trial detention.

In view of the extended pre-trial detention of father and son, the IO also requested the physical detention of Inshal in police custody for interrogation.

However, the defence counsel filed an application, arguing that Hasnain was 16 years old and was entitled to legal concessions under the provisions of the Sindh Juvenile Justice System Ordinance 2000.

The council also produced the entrance card issued by the city of Bahria Karachi management, school certificate, and B form of Hasnain and pleaded to put him in custody in the juvenile jail.

In accordance with the IO’s request, the judge detained Khan and Inshal for interrogation for three days directing the IO to produce them on the next date along with an investigation report.

The magistrate also remanded Hasnain in jail for juveniles with the direction to produce him on the next date.
