Three brothers booked for killing Jazlan Faisal in Bahria Town Karachi

Police have booked three brothers, apparently from a prominent family, in the case of the murder of a youth, Jazlan Faisal, who was killed a couple of days ago over a minor dispute in Karachi’s Bahria Town.

Jazlan was gunned down and his 20-year-old friend Shahmir was wounded on 24 May over a personal dispute inside Bahria Town Karachi(BTK). Police and the victim’s family said the incident occurred during a quarrel between youth over reckless driving.

The FIR was registered against the suspects at the request of the slain’s uncle, Arif Sabir, at the Gadap City Police.

The complainant named three brothers in the FIR. — Ahsan, Irfan, and Hasnain. He said that Jazlan and two others went to the housing society to visit their friend where a brawl took place between him and a motorcyclist over reckless driving, on which the motorcyclist called his brothers who opened fire indiscriminately, killing the teenager on the spot and injuring his brother, Shahmir.

According to the police, the victims and suspects were students belonging to wealthy families.

The killing of Jazlan has become a trend on social media where activists have launched a campaign by uploading videos and photographs of suspects with weapons, demanding their immediate arrest.
