UK Home Secretary Reviews Restrictions on Hamas Support and Anti-Israel Slogans
British Home Secretary Directs Police to Crack Down on Unfurling Palestinian Flags on Streets, Condemning Support for Terrorists
According to international news agencies, the Ministry of Home Affairs in Britain has taken various measures in response to protests against Israel, which include imposing restrictions on waving Palestinian flags in public places.
Home Secretary Suella Braverman, in a written letter to police forces, demanded strict action against those participating in demonstrations supporting Hamas flags, displaying logos, or promoting Palestinian militancy.
British Home Secretary Suella Braverman informed police officers that unfurling Palestinian flags on the streets could be considered a punishable offense, and those engaging in such acts should be seen as supporters of Hamas and terrorism.
The Home Secretary, further instructed that the police should vigorously deal with individuals waving Palestinian flags to support Hamas or attempting to intimidate Jews.
She has expressed concern over imposing restrictions on those chanting slogans in support of Hamas while also proposing to consider anti-Israel slogans as a criminal offense.
It should be noted that the British government had designated Hamas as a terrorist group in 2021. However, now waving Palestinian flags is being associated with supporting Hamas.
It is evident that over 800 Palestinians, including 140 children and several women, have been killed in the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, while more than 1,200 Israelis have also lost their lives in Hamas’ actions.
