UNICEF official allegedly raped in Islamabad

An official of the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was allegedly raped by her security guard in the capital.

The UNICEF official, a Swedish national, approached the Aabpara police to lodge a complaint against a security guard who was deployed at her residence.

Police reported that the victim had been working in Pakistan since January 10th.

According to the first information report (FIR), the guard was deployed at her residence on 11 March.

The FIR said he went into her room and subdued her, adding that the guard tried to smother her and raped her later.

The Aabpara police reported that a case was registered and a team had been set up to track down the guard who ran away and escaped after committing the crime.
