200 Children infected with diarrhoea in Swabi

Swabi: Around 200 kids suffering from diarrhea were brought to three teaching hospitals here in the district and two others died of the disease during the last week, told Bacha khan Medical Complex( BKMC), Shahmansoor, spokesperson Raham Yousafzai here on Thursday.

When accessed District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Latif, said they did not know about the spread of the disease. The DHO and his concerned staff were unaware of the situation.

According to the officials, the diarrhoea cases arose because of recent rains and floods as contaminated water might have affected the health of so many children in the district.

Mr. Yousafzai informed that 200 children were affected by nausea and diarrhoea of which 120 were brought to the Topi tehsil headquarters hospital, 30 to BKMC and 50 to Chota Lahore THQ hospital, adding all these hospitals were teaching institutions.
