22 passengers killed as van falls into ravine near Balochistan’s Killa Saifullah

Twenty-two people were killed and one child was wounded when a van traveling on the National Highway Zhob in Balochistan plunged hundreds of feet into a ravine near Killa Saifullah on Wednesday morning.

The van, with about 23 people on board, had departed Loralai for Zhob, district deputy commissioner Hafiz Muhammad Qasim kakar told the media.

“The vehicle fell off a hill near Akhtarzai and 22 passengers on board reportedly died in the accident,” he said.

Akhtarzai is a tribal area situated at a height of 1572 meters in Zhob.

According to Rescue 1122, a minor boy was injured in the accident and sent to Quetta for medical treatment.

The bodies of all the deceased passengers, they added, were transferred to the head office of the Killa Saifullah District Hospital.

The deceased were five children, five women, and eleven men.
