Aamir Liaquat’s funerals to be held after Juma prayers
PTI MP and TV host Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who died on Thursday, is scheduled to be buried today in the courtyard of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine in Karachi.
Aamir’s family said his funeral prayer will be held after Friday prayers.
Aamir’s first wife, Bushra, shared information about the televangelist’s funeral on Twitter.
She said the funeral prayers will be held at Jamia Masjid at the Abdullah Shah Ghazi Shrine at 2pm following Friday prayers.
No postmortem
She added that the children of Aamir chose not to carry out an autopsy to determine the exact cause of their father’s death.
“Ahmed Aamir and Duaa-e-Aamir have taken the decision to not have the body go through a postmortem and his body will be taken to its final destination in peace and calm,” she added.
“May Allah forgive him (Aamir), bless the departed soul and have mercy upon him granting him the highest rand in Jannah,” the televangelist’s wife prayed for the departed soul.
Ahmed reached at morgue
Meanwhile, Aamir’s son, Ahmed, who was living in London for his studies, arrived at the morgue, run by the social assistance organization, Chhipa, on Friday afternoon. The family was waiting him for the funeral.
Dua and Ahmad negotiated with the police to allow them to bury the body without an autopsy.
The police, however, refused to release the body, urging them to go to court as the investigation was launched under the Section 174.
Family asked to approach court
Earlier today, the Sindh police had asked the morgue not to hanf over the body of Dr.Aamir Liaquat and hsnd over it to the police station of the brigade.
Family members were asked to obtain court permission first, and then they were allowed to take the body without an autopsy.
Final resting place of Amir Liaquat
According to his wishes, Aamir is expected to bury alongside his father Shaykh Liaquat Hussain and his mother Mehmooda Sultana one of three graveyards inside Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s tomb in Karachi.
In this respect, preparations started at the graveyard late Thursday for the burial of Aachen.
