HYDERABAD: Coca Cola to Invest Rs 700 Crore in New Facility in Telangana.

Fast-moving consumer goods giant Coca Cola has announced plans to establish its third greenfield facility in Telangana, with an investment of Rs 700 crore.

The new facility will be developed by Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB), the wholly-owned subsidiary of the American company, and will be located in Peddapalli district.

The announcement was made by the office of Telangana Industries & IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, following his meeting with senior leaders of Coca Cola, including Jonathan Reif, the head of fiscal policy, at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta. Telangana Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy also attended the meeting.

During the discussions, Coca Cola’s leadership confirmed their plans to establish the new facility in Peddapalli district, having already shortlisted potential sites.

The Industries Minister highlighted that this decision represents a significant move towards distributed industrial growth within the state, aligning with the new government’s priorities.

Minister Sridhar Babu also encouraged Coca Cola to set up a global capability center for technology in Hyderabad as part of their IT strategy.

The minister is leading a delegation to the US to promote Telangana as a global investment destination.

The delegation includes Telangana IT & Industries Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, TSIIC Vice Chairman & Managing Director, and Special Secretary Dr. Vishnu Reddy.

Earlier this year, in March, HCCB’s CEO Juan Pablo Rodriguez and a senior delegation met with Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to discuss the establishment of the new facility.

In April 2022, HCCB announced its second factory in the state at a 49-acre site in Bandathimmapur food processing park in Siddpet district, with an investment of Rs 1000 crore.

HCCB’s first plant in Ameenpur, Telangana, is among its largest facilities.
