Doctors remove 206 stones from man in India

In Hyderabad, India, a team of doctors removed 206 stones from the kidney of a 56-year-old man in an hour-long surgery, Indian media reported.

Veeramalla Ramalakshmaiah spent six months in severe pain while taking medication from a local doctor which provided him temporary relief.

After his daily life has been affected beyond expectations with the pain that makes it impossible to carry out the basic tasks, he was operated upon by the doctors at the Gleneagles Global Hospital.

Poola Naveen Kumar, chief urologist-consultant at the hospital, said that all the stones were removed during the one-hour procedure.

Kumar also reported that Malakshmaiah was well after the surgery.

The hospital doctors added that increased cases of dehydration were reported because of the high temperatures which may be the cause of kidney stones.
