Educational institutions to remain closed as more rains anticipated

After prolonged torrential rains on Wednesday, all teaching institutions in Karachi and other districts of Sindh will remain closed on Thursday (today).

This was declared by Sindh’s minister of education, Sardar Ali Shah, after a rainy day across the province and the prediction of heavy rains on Thursday.

The Chairman of the Sindh Association of Private Schools and Colleges (ASPSCA), Haider Ali, had already announced the closure of schools and colleges on Thursday after examining the situation.

The minister stated that all private and public education institutions in Karachi and other parts of Sindh will not be opened on 18 August.

Exams deferred

The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) also deferred the examinations of all the groups on 18th August due to the strong forecast of rain and the road situation after the rains on Wednesday.

The deferred examinations have been rescheduled for August 25 that will take place in the same exam centers and time, a press release said.

The board also directed the colleges to postpone the practical examinations to later dates.
