Elon Musk shares good news amidst legal battle underway with Twitter
Tesla CEO Elon Musk shared the good news with his followers as part of an ongoing legal battle with Twitter about a $44 billion buyout.
On Twitter, the billionaire announced that his company, Tesla, has produced more than three million cars, of which Gigafactory Shanghai has manufactured one million.
“Congrats, Giga Shanghai on making the millionth car! Total Teslas made now over 3M,” he tweeted.
He announced the good news a few days after selling nearly $7 billion worth of Tesla stock, according to legal documents released last week.
The boss of Tesla sold approximately 7.9 million shares between August 5 and 9, according to documents published on the Securities and Exchange Commission website.
“In the (hopefully unlikely) event that Twitter forces this deal to close and some equity partners don’t come through, it is important to avoid an emergency sale of Tesla stock,” Musk wrote on Twitter late Tuesday.
Twitter is locked in a legal battle with the mercurial boss of Tesla over his efforts to withdraw from the April agreement to buy the company and a judge ordered a trial to be held this October.
Musk filed a counterclaim, charging Twitter with fraud and alleging that the social media platform misled him on key aspects of his business before he accepted a $44 billion buyout.
