Is it possible to use WhatsApp on two different devices now?

WhatsApp instant messaging app is to deploy new functionality for its users called companion mode by enabling it for some beta-testers, WaBetaInfo reported.

The new functionality will allow users to connect their existing WhatsApp account to an Android tablet. This feature comes out for mobile phones on Android beta.

The screenshot below shows how users can easily link their WhatsApp accounts to another mobile device. Users will need to see the option in the recording screen to see if they can find the option “Link a device”.

Users can use this feature if the option is displayed by signing in to their WhatsApp account on an additional mobile phone.

Once the account is linked, the chat history is on the linked devices. However, some of the options—displaying live sites, managing mailing lists, and stickers—will not be available because it is only a beta release.

Even after using WhatsApp from the connected mobile phone, chats will remain encrypted from start to finish. When someone sends a message, it will be sent to both connected devices with encryption yet preserved.

Companion mode is available for some beta testers but will be available for more users within the next few weeks.
