The Kashmir Premier League will invite former Indian skipper Virat Kohli to participate in the second edition of the league, a mega cricket event aimed at promoting Kashmir’s importance and talent on the world stage.
The event is scheduled to begin on August 1 and its final will take place on Pakistan’s 75th Independence Day (August 14).
KPL President Arif Malik said in a statement that Kohli will be officially invited to join the league. However, deciding to join KPL as a special player or guest will only depend on the Indian cricket player.
“KPL sends a message of peace across the globe. We want Indian cricketers to be part of the league and we want to reduce tensions on both sides thanks to cricket,” the statement said.
According to Malik, the league’s primary goal is to promote cricket and provide facilities for players in the region.
