Sri Lanka notified four new coaching staff to support new head coach Chris Silverwood on Sunday, ahead of next month’s two-match Test series in Bangladesh.
Retired Sri Lankan Test player Naveed Nawaz was nominated assistant coach for two years, Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement.
Naveed Nawaz had been the head coach of the Bangladesh Junior team which won the Under 19 World Cup in 2020.
The other announcements made by the cricket board were specialist coaches Chaminda Vaas for fast bowling, Piyal Wijetunge for a spin, and Manoj Abeywickrama for fielding.
The first Test starts May 15 in Chittagong and comes next to a Dhaka fixture from May 23.
