In the 15th match of the T20 World Cup, Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by 2 wickets.

In the Group D match played in Dallas, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first against Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan team scored 124 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted overs, with opener Pathum Nissanka being the top scorer with 47 runs off 28 balls.

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain each took 3 wickets.

Bangladesh then chased down the target of 125 runs in the 19th over, losing 8 wickets in the process.

Bangladeshi batsman Towhid Hridoy scored 40 runs and Liton Das made 36 runs, while Mahmudullah remained unbeaten with 16 runs.

This was Sri Lanka’s second match in the event; they were previously defeated by South Africa by 6 wickets.
