In an exciting development, the group of students from Pakistan Navy Engineering College-NUST brought Tesla on board as their innovative partner. This is one of the greatest achievements of the team’s long list of international distinctions.

A FERN representative told the media that the team contacted Tesla Inc in search of cooperation. After reviewing its impressive portfolio, Tesla has agreed to become the innovative partner of the team.

The partnership will allow FERN to obtain the technical support, technology sharing, and components essential to the development of electric vehicles (EVs) by the global pioneer in the field of EVs.

With this step, FERN became the first and only educational institute to collaborate with one of the world’s leading names in the global automobile industry.

Another member of the team pointed out that, on the international scene, FERN’s rival teams show up with sponsorships from automotive giants like Mercedes-AMG, Volkswagen, Porsche, and other major players. “Words can’t express the sense of excitement and gratitude we get to mark an affiliation with a name like Tesla.”

Previous Track Record

FERN has been a dominant force in the annual Formula Student contests as well as several others. The team has a consistent track record of achieving a podium in every international competition they enter.

Their current project car uses a 5 kWh battery which is good for 22 km autonomy. It has a top speed of 120 kph and can pass from a stop at 100 kph in only 4.5 seconds, making it faster than most cars on Pakistani highways.
