U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken felicitated Bilawal Bhutto on Friday as Pakistan’s new foreign minister.
The foreign minister confirmed his US counterpart’s call and thanked him for the congratulations on his Twitter account.
Both sides spoke of building a mutually beneficial and far-reaching relationship between Pakistan and the US, he tweeted.
They also talked about promoting peace and security within the country and throughout the region. Blinken and Bilawal also agreed to proceed in a mutually respectful manner.
Sworn into office at the age of 33, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is Pakistan’s youngest foreign minister. Bilawal Bhutto became part of the cabinet in the third phase.
He became an MNA in 2018.
