In the fifth match of the ICC T20 World Cup, Afghanistan triumphed over Uganda by 125 runs.

The Group C clash took place in Providence, Rhode Island, where Uganda won the toss and opted to field first.

Afghanistan scored 183 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted overs.

The opening batters put on a splendid show, forming a 154-run partnership.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored for Afghanistan with 76 runs, while Ibrahim Zadran contributed 70 runs. Mohammad Nabi remained unbeaten with 14 runs.

In response, Uganda’s team was bowled out for just 58 runs in 16 overs.

Afghanistan’s bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi took 5 wickets for just 9 runs.

Uganda was the second team from Africa, after Namibia, to qualify for the T20 World Cup in the USA.

Afghanistan team has had notable victories against Pakistan, England, and Sri Lanka in the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup held in India last year.
