Another rain spell starting today

Rain and thundershowers in upper and central parts of the country, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, are expected from Sunday (today).

The Met Office reported that wet currents are entering the country’s upper reaches and are expected to continue over the next four to five days. It is also likely that a westerly wave will enter the upper parts of the country on September 11th (Sunday).

Due to the influence of this weather system, rain and thunderstorm are expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum.

It warned people that precipitation could cause landslides in Kashmir, in the rolling areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Galiyat, and Murree.
