Baloch students represent Pakistan speaking at world’s oldest debate forum in traditional attire

According to details, Israr Khan is originally from Qila Abdullah, a district in northwestern Baluchistan, and took part in the debate at the prestigious Oxford Union Society while wearing a shalwar kameez along with a traditional Pashtun turban.

The Oxford Union Society was established in 1823. It is one of the oldest academic unions in the United Kingdom and one of the most prestigious private students’ societies.

Although it operates independently of the University of Oxford, the Oxford Union Society has welcomed some of the most famous political, academic, and cultural personalities in the world.

Earlier this year, Ahmed Nawaz, a survivor of the terrorist attack on the Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS) in December 2014 was elected to the Oxford Union Society’s Chair.
