Govt reduces petrol price by Rs3.05 per liter for fortnight
The Government of Pakistan announced on Sunday a decrease in the price of petrol of 3.05 per liter for the first half of August 2022, according to a statement issued by the Finance Division said.
Due to price changes, petrol will now be available for Rs227.19 per liter. Previously, petrol was being sold across the country for Rs230.34 per liter.
In the meantime, there has been a rise of Rs8.95 in the price of high-speed diesel, after which the new price will be Rs244.95 per liter.
According to the notification, the changes were made as a result of a reduction in the prices of oil products in the international market.
As a result of fluctuating oil prices in the international market and exchange rate fluctuations, the government has decided to review existing oil product prices to pass on the impact to the consumers”, the statement said.
It further stated that the new prices will take effect on August 1, 2022, and will remain in effect until August 15.
