The federal government has made a decision to extend the Prime Minister’s laptop scheme to schools.

As part of the program, talented matric students will be provided with free laptops.

In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed the authorities concerned to take steps as soon as possible.

The government is focused on making free laptops a permanent part of its strategy to help students become more competitive and to support them in meeting challenges in domestic and global markets.

The government’s goal is to make free laptops a permanent part of its strategy to empower students.

Ex- prime minister Nawaz Sharif launched the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme in May 2014.

The scheme was initially aimed at providing free laptops for talented students at public and semi-public universities. The scheme was later expanded to include intermediate students.

At present, four phases of the programme have been completed. The second phase became popular among students as they received detachable laptops with free internet connection.
