One FC soldier martyred, another wounded in Bajaur Blast
A soldier of Frontier Crops (FC) was martyred and another suffered injuries, in a remote-controlled bomb blast on Tuesday.
The rescue officials said that the two personnel were targeted by a roadside bomb when they were on routine patrol in the Yousafabad area.
Lance Naik Mujahid Shah was the martyred soldier, the officials added. The deceased and the injured were later shifted to Khar District Headquarters Hospital.
District Police Officer Abdul Samad Khan said a search operation was underway to arrest the assailants while talking with the media.
The funeral prayer was attended by senior civil and military officials which were offered at Bajaur Scouts’ Headquarters in Khar.
The attack was carried out three days after the end of the eight-day-long ‘peace sit-in’ held by JUI-F because of the deteriorating law and order situation in the area.
The sit-in was seconded by political parties, civil society, youths, and traders’ organizations and ended after the district administration signed an agreement with the organizers to improve the law and order situation.
