Pakistan and China's Guangdong Province are set to explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Meng Fanli, Party Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and Deputy Party Secretary of Guangdong Provincial Committee in Shenzhen, China, on Tuesday.

The prime minister highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the regular interaction and dialogue at the leadership level, as well as the significant people-to-people connections and cultural and educational exchanges.

He praised the remarkable economic progress and outstanding innovation of Guangdong province, highlighting Shenzhen as a crucial trade hub connecting China with Pakistan. Reiterating the enduring strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation, especially within the framework of CPEC, and agreed to explore further opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and Guangdong province.

The Prime Minister and Party Secretary Meng emphasized the significance of strong connections and interactions among scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs to fully utilize the potential for advancing collaboration in science and technology, innovation, as well as trade and economic cooperation.

They also concurred that the Pakistan-China Business Conference scheduled for Wednesday could play a significant role in this regard.
