Kohli smashed an undefeated 82 to lead his team to a memorable victory over Pakistan on Sunday in Melbourne and that hit catapulted the old Indian captain into the top 10 batsmen.

The 33-year-old hit six four and sixes during his glorious 53-ball stay at the MCG and duly moved five places to ninth place on the latest set of player leaderboards that were released by the ICC on Wednesday.

Pakistan star Mohammad Rizwan remains on the top of the batting list, but there is a new challenger for the title as a New Zealander Devon Conway, rises three places to second following his unbeaten 92 against Australia at the T20 World Cup.

Conway beat the Australian attack in all parts of the SCG in his 58-ball inning while he and Finn Allen (42 off of 16) combined to put the defending T20 World Cup champions to the sword in the opening match of the Super 12 on Saturday.
