More showers expected today in Sindh
Many areas of the city received light to moderate rain on Wednesday.
The Met Office said that cloudy weather with intermittent rains and thunderstorms is expected in the metropolitan city on Thursday (today), while widespread rains and thunderstorms are likely to occur in the rest of the province.
Maximum precipitation was recorded Korangi (14.8mm) followed by Quaidabad (10.5mm), Saddar (10mm), Nazimabad (8.4mm), Surjani Town (8.2mm), PAF Faisal Base (8mm), Orangi Town and Kaemari (7mm each), North Karachi (6mm), Airport old area (5.3mm), University Road Met Office and PAF Masroor Base (5mm each), Gulshan-i-Maymar (4.2mm), Saadi Town (3.5mm), Gulshan-i-Hadeed (3mm), Jinnah Terminal (2.2mm) and Gadap Town (1mm) and DHA Phase II (0.3mm).
The Met’s office stated that a well-marked monsoon low-pressure area was now in the center of Sindh and in western Rajasthan (India).
Under the influence of this weather system, widespread rainstorms with few heavy/very heavy fall are likely to take place in Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Sukkur, Larkana, and Kashmore districts till Thursday night,” it said.
Rainstorms with few mild storms (isolated falls) are also forecast in Karachi.
